Using this site means you accept these terms
These terms cover your use of this website and the concrete work Marshalltown Concrete does for you. By browsing the site, calling us or sending a request through our contact page, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.
When you hire us, your written estimate or contract also applies to your job. If it says something different from this page, the estimate or contract wins for that job.
What we do
Marshalltown Concrete is a concrete contractor in Marshalltown, IA. We build driveways, patios, sidewalks, steps, garage floors, slabs, footings, foundations and retaining walls, and we do stamped and decorative concrete, concrete cutting and foundation raising. You can read more about who we are on our about page and see every service from the home page.
What's on this site describes our work in general. Your job's exact scope, materials and finish are the ones written in your estimate or contract, because every site and every slab is a little different.
Estimates and pricing
We give free estimates on site, with no obligation to hire us. An estimate is based on what we can see and measure that day, so the size of the job, the access, the condition of the ground and the finish you choose all go into the figure.
Some things only show up once the old concrete is out or the ground is dug, such as soft or wet soil under the slab, buried debris, roots or old footings. If we find something that changes the work, we'll stop and talk with you before we do more, and any added cost will be agreed in writing or by text or email before we go ahead.
Prices or ranges anywhere on this website are general information, not a quote. Only a written estimate from us sets your price.
Scheduling, weather and cancellation
We schedule your job once you accept the estimate, and we'll give you a target date. Concrete depends on the weather, so we may move a pour for rain, freezing temperatures or extreme heat, because each of those can weaken the surface or stop the slab from curing, which is the slow hardening that gives concrete its strength. We'll let you know as early as we can and pick the next good day with you.
If you need to cancel or move your job, call us at (641) 354-2469 as soon as you can. If we've already ordered concrete, materials or equipment for your job, you may be responsible for costs we can't get back, as your estimate or contract explains.
Payment
Your estimate or contract sets the payment schedule, including any deposit, progress payments and the final amount due. Payment is due on the dates written there unless we've agreed otherwise in writing.
If a payment is late, we may pause work until it's made. Iowa law may also allow us to file a lien on the property for unpaid work and materials, and we'd much rather settle any billing question with a phone call first.
Our work and what we can't promise
We stand behind every job, and if you're not satisfied with our work, call us and we'll come out and look at it. Any specific warranty for your job is the one written in your contract.
Concrete can crack. It shrinks as it cures, and Iowa's freezes and thaws move the ground under it. We cut control joints, which are planned grooves in the slab, so most cracks happen along those lines instead of across the middle. Hairline cracks, small differences in color and minor surface wear are normal for concrete and aren't defects.
We aren't responsible for damage caused by things outside our work, such as drainage changes made after we leave, heavy vehicles or equipment the slab wasn't built for, deicing salts, using the slab before it has cured, or ground movement from tree roots, utilities or flooding.
This website is provided as is. We try to keep it accurate, but we don't promise that every page is complete, current or free of errors.
Limits on our liability
As far as Iowa law allows, Marshalltown Concrete isn't liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, such as lost use of your driveway, lost income or inconvenience, from our work or from your use of this website.
As far as Iowa law allows, our total liability for any claim about a job is limited to the amount you paid us for that job. Nothing on this page limits a right you have that the law says can't be limited.
Settling a disagreement
If something about your job isn't right, call us first at (641) 354-2469 or reach us through the contact page. Most problems get settled by walking the job together and talking it through.
If we can't work it out that way, we both agree to try mediation in good faith before going to court. Any lawsuit will be brought in the state courts serving Marshall County, Iowa, unless the law requires a different place.
Governing law
These terms and any work we do for you are governed by the laws of the State of Iowa.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time, and the version posted on this page is the one in effect. Changes don't alter a contract you've already signed with us unless we both agree in writing.
If you have a question about these terms, call us at (641) 354-2469 or send it through our contact page.
